Our goal is to understand the barriers preventing taxpayers from claiming the EITC and raise awareness and receipt of the credit. The percentage of children living in poverty in Athens was 31 percent in 2018. By increasing receipt of the EITC in Athens, we can increase cash flow into these households and reduce the number of families living in poverty.
